Uci Health-Los Alamitos provides free (charity) care to patients at or below 400% of the Federal Poverty Level. If your yearly household income is at or below the amount for your household size, you likely qualify for 100% free care:

What you'll need to apply

• Completed Financial Assistance/Charity Screening Form
• Most recent filed Federal tax return OR a minimum of six months of recent paycheck stubs (income verification)
• Documentation of all health benefits coverage
• For High Medical Cost patients: receipts/proof of payment of medical costs from other providers in prior 12 months
• Copy of denial from State/County/other programs if applied and denied

When you call, say: “I'd like to apply for financial assistance (charity care) for a hospital bill. Can you send me the application and tell me which documents I need?”
